Hello! I’m Jen
Dip.psych.couns, MBACP
My name is Jen, and I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor. I offer a non-judgmental space in which my clients can work through painful or difficult experiences with warmth and kindness. I aim to provide a secure and confidential base in which it is possible to build trust in an ongoing therapeutic relationship, empowering the individual to develop the internal resources to cope with the many challenges that life can bring. I will listen carefully to whatever my client needs to talk about, without fear of judgement and explore together any difficulties.

Frequently Asked Questions
‘How many sessions should I have?’
This would be tailored to suit the individual’s needs. I offer open-ended therapy which is not confined to a set amount of sessions, allowing the client to work at their own pace. This can be reviewed frequently. Alternatively, I can offer time-limited sessions to those that wish to focus on a sole aspect that may be worrying them. This could be between 6-12 sessions depending on what is needed.
‘What happens in a counselling session?’
Each session lasts for 50 minutes, either face-to-face or via video call. The first couple of sessions act as an assessment to allow me an insight into what may have been going on for the client. The sessions are held on a weekly basis moving forward as we explore together any areas that may have been impacting the individual.
‘Is my counsellor qualified?’
I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor. I work under the ethical framework set out by the British Associaton for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Please see the Services page for my full list of credentials.
‘How much does counselling cost?’
Face-to-face counselling is £55 per 50 minutes, and online counselling via zoom is £50 per 50 minutes. Fill out the contact form below for a free initial consultation.
‘Is counselling available during lockdown?’
Yes. Counselling has continued throughout the pandemic, largely via Zoom and other video meeting services. As soon as government guidelines permit, face-to-face counselling will be able to resume.
‘What issues can counselling help with?’
There are a variety of reasons someone may decide to seek counselling. For a list of areas I personally specialise in, please see the Services page.
‘Do I need counselling?’
If this is a question that has been on your mind recently, it may be a good idea to speak with a professional and seek their opinion. I offer a free consultation to all my clients where we can outline what I offer, how I could help you and the best steps to proceed.
